Dr. Arthur C. Gray, M.D., is a Board-certified dermatologist who recently joined Lupton Dermatology in February 2019 after the retirement of Frederick Lupton III, M.D. Dr. Gray treats patients of all ages in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, with special interests in contact dermatitis and scalp disorders. Dr. Gray has expertise in general dermatology, including the diagnosis and treatment of acne, skin cancer, warts, autoimmune disease, allergic contact dermatitis, and photo-aging. He has performed clinical research of emerging therapies for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infections, and hair loss.
Born in Chicago, Dr. Gray spent his formative years in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio and Toronto, Canada. Dr. Gray earned a medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and studied Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago. He completed an internship at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, and residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. After his training, Dr. Gray returned to the University of Illinois as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Resident in the Department of Dermatology. The University of Illinois at Chicago was his home for medical school and dermatology training. After more than a decade practicing dermatology in Naperville, Illinois, Dr. Gray and his family felt they would be suited for a warmer climate, and made the decision to pursue an opportunity in the south. Dr. Gray and his family found a new home in Greensboro, NC, with Lupton Dermatology and The Skin Surgery Center.
