Dr. Brian Leach joined The Skin Surgery Center of Charleston in 2017 as a Fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and serves our Charleston office. He brings 24+ years of experience in both civilian and military medical care.
Dr. Leach earned his Medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Centenary College of Louisiana. He completed an internship at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Ft. Lewis, Wash., a residency in Dermatology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Calif., and a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He previously served as Associate Professor in the Departments of Dermatology/Dermatologic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston.
Dr. Leach has authored more than a dozen scientific publications and presented extensively at local, regional, national and international conferences. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army and Air Force for twelve-and-a-half years of Active duty military service, and for one year in the USAF Reserves. Additionally, Dr. Leach is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
